my apartment has exactly one place to collect laundry, a closet with pantry shelves to each side of a 28" door. the space on the floor used to be a little tight for the standard plastic laundry basket (you know the kind). i got one of these rubbermaid contraptions a few months ago and now have room to spare in an otherwise tight closet.
the look of the container is clean and the vinyl interior looks durable enough to last longer than the baskets i have been toting around for years. i bought three for my daughter so she will never have to sort laundry again. and now i am looking at the other Configurations storage containers to see if they can help me in other closets.
i would expect to see a product line like this one winning design awards or being featured in magazines like Dwell. this stuff is that good.

I had been looking for a laundry "system" for a while and just couldn't find anything that met the needs of the laundry factory that I run (one husband, age 32, and three kids: 10-year-old boy, 6-year-old boy, baby girl). I found these on Amazon in my "gold box" on sale. The dimensions were listed so I measured and ordered four of them. I gotta tell you-- I haven't sorted laundry since! These laundry hampers are neutral in color and are easy to carry. They each hold about a load-and-a-half of laundry-- two loads if you smash stuff down. I set them in a row on the landing outside of all the bedrooms and the husband and the kids simply put their laundry in the correct hamper. We love them. I wish the insides came out for laundering, but we just spray them down with cleaner and wipe them out.Customer Review: The very best hamper I've found, and I was looking!

These things are great. I wanted to be able to sort whites, colors and dry cleaning, and I couldn't find anything that really worked. Three laundry baskets take up too much floor space, big sorters (when you can find one with three bins) are also hard to move around. These Rubbermaid hampers hold about the same amount of clothing as a large laundry basket, but they stand up straight, fit nicely along a wall and next to each other, and move easily to and from the laundry room.
And they look great. And they're cheap. What's not to like?
I'd love to have the liner in a color other than blue, maybe a shade of white or brown to match the outside or the trim, but I wouldn't trade these for any other product I've seen.

These foldable hampers are an excellent buy and I only wonder where they have been all of my life. After reading the reviews I knew this would be perfect and I actually got on the waitlist as they were out of stock when I wanted them.
I am a HUGE germaphobe so I love that fact that once I do laundry I can Lysol and Febreze the hampers. Also, I love the convenience of being able to fold them and take them when I travel (by car). Most importantly, These hampers hold A LOT of close. I purchased four but only routinely use two (one for whites and the other for colors) and can easily go up to 1 1/2 week using the two.
I cannot imagine why anyone would not like these. Plus, the natural fabric material is very nice.

I bought 4 of these a couple of years ago to use as laundry sorters. I don't carry laundry around in them, so I can't speak to that kind of durability. But they have held up very well as laundry sorters. They hold about a load and a half each, and I have been very pleased with them. But I'm most excited about a more recent use...recycling bins (indoor). They're presentable enough that we have them setting at the end of our counter, and they're large enough that two of them will hold a hefty week's worth of recycling (we recycle everything). We've been trying style after style of recycling bin, and we finally just decided to try our hampers since we had been so pleased with them. So far, it's working great. Very pleased.
