Purchased from Amazon in Titanium. My other 3 closet systems are Stanley. I like this Rubbermaid system much better. You do need a 3/8 drill bit to use the anchors. There was only one package of screws/achors furnished (8 of each). I had to go to Lowes to buy a second package. Guess what? I had to go back a second time to buy a third package. Why did they skimp here? Lowes only had white tipped screws,not titanium, so they don't match. A minor issue, but inconvenient and unnessary. Also, Lowes only had extra pieces (shelves, etc) and accessories in white, which would have messed up the looks.
I looked at the sliding wicker and canvas baskets in Lowes. Hardware looks of poor quality, stiff sliding, and clearly won't last. The white wire slider looks to be of better quality, and slides easily. If you want one, pay the difference and get the wire.
Overall, a nice system. Generous number of shelving. Love the easily adjustable shelving. Dissapointed shelves are only available in 12 inch depth. Really could use 15-18 inch options. We are using this for a large linen closet. Installation time. Would have been 3 hours, if they furnished enough screws. I also had to buy a 3/8 drill bit - about $ 8.

The Rubbermaid 3H88 closet system is everything it advertises...Easy to install, very durable and does allow for very clean, organized storage. Only downfall is that if you wanted to add on longer shelves like we needed, you will not find extra brackets and shelves anywhere making it not so expandable. I actually had to by extra parts from another shelf system that worked ok. Be sure to buy the biggest available system to maximize its utility. In the end, i believe you could build your own system with other individual pieces from a less expensive system and pay less for what you need. it's a good start though....before you buy, make sure it'll be enough for what you need and if it is, you'll definately like it........Customer Review: Odd sized closet with existing shelving made installation a challenge

This was my first Rubbermaid 3H88 Configurations 3 to 6 Foot Deluxe Custom Closet Kit, White purchase and installation. I'm not a novice do-it-yourselfer, but I did struggle with installation a little bit, mainly due to the existing shelving and how that affected the installation of the first part of the project... the hang rail.
In the directions it says to hang the hang rail at 86.5", which was impossible for me to do without taking out existing shelving and potentially sheet rock! I opted to place the rail at 63" instead. For the most part, this was not a bad thing, but it did limit the configuration as I couldn't add the vertical extensions which would have supported add-ons.
Before starting the project I cleared out the closet, gathered the 'tools required' as on the box and unwrapped the parts; counting them to make sure I had a complete set. I actually recevied a couple extra small parts in my kit.
Quickly it became apparent that a good light source, a step ladder, and a stud finder would also be on my 'required' tools list.
From start to finish my project took me 2 hours and 15 minutes. The reading of the directions, the locating studs in the wall, drilling and making sure things were level took the most time. Once the rails were up, the rest was fun and easy.
When placing shelving there are 'A' and 'B' shelves. A is installed first, and B overlaps it if you're making a shelf that's going to run the length of the closet. If you are making short shelves, it doesn't matter whether you use A or B, but be sure you feed the front of the bracket through the front of the shelf and use the lock on the back of the shelf support to secure it.
When you install the hanging hooks (they support the hanging rods), they simply slip into the grooves underneath the front of the shelf brackets. It's very easy to do and they fit securely into the hooks so the rod doesn't slip around.
Overall I am very pleased with this purchase. It's well made, comes complete with good directions and gives me many more organizational options as promised. I also picked it up for under $80...which makes me feel a bit better about not being able to use those vertical extensions!
