Customer Review: going with Pyrex next time...

I read the reviews before purchasing this set and had high hopes that they would solve the ongoing food storage and food management issues in the kitchen, by upgrading from the more temporary plastic containers which deteriorate fairly quickly with a more robust set with the benefits of easy organization within the cupboard.
What became immediately clear is, one, the burgundy color of the lids reminded me of some of the weirder color choices of Ikea-ware, where it appears as if a challenge- do you want a putrid color associated with your food and cooking? The burgundy color is not that bad, yet it is somber and I thought it would be towards a brighter more lively red, not of a morose complexion.
As well, if washing these items by hand and drying in a dish rack, the lids definitely do hold water, as with the other more temporary plastic storage lids. This then requires the lids to be dried on one side and then when you are about to put away the dried dishes such as plates and bowls and even the base of the Rubbermaid containers, the Lids are still full of water on the reverse side and need to sit out longer after being flipped to shed the excess water stored on their crevacious surface.
This lid design is thus dysfunctional and defeats the increased usability of being able to stack lids because who wants to stack wet lids together then affix them to a stack of containers?
Further, the opacity of the lids is another area of contention because the cheaper plastic storage containers have translucent lids and it never registered with me that this helped to identify what food was in a container in the bottom of the fridge before, though with the burgundy lids there is no indication if and you have memory problems like I do it becomes a mystery what is in that container, because there is little to no clue, whereas a transparent lid at least provides some hint.
Apparently there is a next-step up in the Rubbermaid product line for container storage where the lids are see-through or translucent to some degree, though I am not interested in trying them out at this point because: 1- they are plastic, and 2- I would rather spend the extra money on a non-nesting set of Pyrex containers and build on that collection over years than continue to mess around with this style of storage.
In this way it may be preferable to keep using the cheap temporary plastic containers and slowly build up a higher quality longer lasting food storage solution than to try for something in-between - by presenting plastic as a long-term option when it is not.
