Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 24-Piece Food Storage Container SetCustomer Review: Finally cleaned out my storage cupboard Summary: 5 Stars
I've had so many different tupperware type containers over the years, i had a real nasty mixed up bunch wasting a ton of space in one of my cupboards. I finally decided it was time to lose as much of it as I could and get a single set again that stacked well.
Nicely made, the pieces snap onto the tops of the lids for easy storage. It is so nice to just pull the whole pile out as one piece, peel a lid from the bottom, slide a container out from the top, and good to go.
I'm using about 20% of the cupboard space I was using after getting rid of the junk I had and putting these in their place. Caused me to rearrange my whole kitchen to make it more efficient.
Tops snap into place well, so you don't feel like you're always double checking to make sure it sealed right like some others I've used.
Don't know that I'll ever have a use for the little ones, but the rest are already coming in handy, and I find myself keeping a few more things than I normally would (not a big leftover kind of guy).
Very happy with the purchase and value.
Customer Review: Interesting Little Set of plastic boxes. Summary: 4 Stars
OK they are what they are....plastic boxes to store food.
Or if not a foodie then other little objects of passion
around the home/garage/what have you.
I find myself reaching for the tiny one all the time. Have
yet to work all of them into cabinets. Husband can't let go
of the old ROUND ones we've had for over 20 years. Never did
like those.
Have yet to try in microwave. Don't use the dishwasher...I am
the dishwasher. And so that info has no experience here.
They have a very slippery feeling and when you wash them they
feel like you might loose the grip and have it shoot out of hand
and across the room hitting the cat....well it does!
Otherwise no complaints...they are what they are. I would by another
set if I could get a group of smallest ones along with larger. I wish
they had 1-2 quart size available in sets or pairs too. A huge one
is available but rather expensive on just it's own....I bought two
sets on their great sales that day. Could recommend for sure.
Customer Review: Well worth the money Summary: 5 Stars
These store very compactly. It is a lot easier when you have a uniform set for storage purposes clean and unclean. theyu have cleaned up nice and easy, but I havent put ketchup in them yet.so that would be the real test. they are aLSO BPA Free which is what you need when storing food.I wish they include a bigger size container which is sold separately. I was kind of mad from amazon because the price dropped almost 30% after I purchased them they should have a price adjustment policy for purchases within 10 days or 30 days period come on you guys! I was so fed up with the mess in my container drawer that I decided to get rid of all those nasty locking mechanism container that gather mold and take forever to assemble after washing them . I take them apart when I wash them because otherwise they will gather mold. you can store them in a corner of the drawer with the cover, they all fit inside each other and many use the same size cover. One problem I have though is if I loan them out, I may never get them back.
Customer Review: Two words: freezer burn. Summary: 1 Stars
Every piece of meat I've put in these has ended up with freezer burn. The most recent piece of meat I took out of the freezer had been there less than a month and it was ruined. Meanwhile, the turkey breast I put in a Ziploc bag on Thanksgiving is doing just fine.
While I do not like using plastic in the microwave (I have glass storage bowls I use for reheating when I can) there have been a few times I've had to use these in the microwave. I offset the lid on top of the bowl to keep in any splatters, but still allow for venting. Twice now, the lid has suctioned itself to the bowl and misshaped the lid, making it useless. Whether plastic is safe or not, it should structurally hold up to a microwave if that's what's being advertised on the box.
It also stains easily, but I didn't have high expectations there, given the type of plastic.
I'd recommend the Rubbermaid Premier line instead. Better yet, get some Pyrex, Anchor Hocking, etc., glass storage bowls.
Customer Review: A Great Value! Summary: 4 Stars
I had my eye on this set for several months, but kept convincing myself that I didn't need more plastic containers cluttering up my cupboards. But when it finally hit a price point that I couldn't pass up, I bought it. The first thing I did though was throw away (actually recycle) all of the old, mismatched, stained and overused containers we had. I figured if I started out fresh that it would make it easier.
Now that I've had a chance to use this set I am very happy I bought them. The sizes are perfect for our leftovers or lunches. They're clear instead of being opaque like some containers, so it's easy to see what you're grabbing out of the fridge and also no more hunting for the right lid, as they snap on the bottom when stored. In buying these I have actually freed up one entire shelf in my cupboard which was another bonus! (More room for me to put all my other purchases) One last thing to note is that this set is BPA free.
