Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid 24-Piece Food Storage Container SetCustomer Review: A great design in theory... Summary: 2 Stars
I was really excited to get this set, since I have had other great food storage containers from Rubbermaid. I will start with the pros:
Nice variety of sizes in containers
They clean very well in the dishwasher...sauce does not stain them
Cons:
The first issue was that I was missing 4 lids. I called Rubbermaid and they were very courteous and promptly sent me a gift certificate to go out and buy the missing lids, as they do not have replacement lids in the warehouse. This was a bit annoying, but they did rectify the problem.
My biggest issue with the storage containers is that it is very difficult to snap the bottom of the containers to the lids for storage, as seen in the picture. The edges are sharp and pushing down on them so hard trying to snap them is very uncomfortable. The cool storage design was the biggest reason why I bought them, so I am disappointed.
Customer Review: I love these containers Summary: 5 Stars
I bought Rubbermaid Easy Find Lid containers to replace old storage containers that were nearing the end of their life. Rubbermaid containers are made of significantly thicker plastic and the lids click securely in place. I have not had a leakage with Rubbermaid, even though it was an often issue with the old containers. I like that the lids click together for neat storage, but I do not use the feature that allows you to attach the bottom of the container to the top of the lid. I just stack containers together and keep same size lids clicked together for neat storage.
The 24-piece set had all of the sizes I needed. I may eventually buy a couple of really big ones that match this set (I saw them at a local store), because I really like the quality of these containers.
I would recommend these Rubbermaid containers to anyone.
Customer Review: Ruins my food... and my day. Summary: 1 Stars
Next time you're in a Walmart or Target, pick up some of these containers and take a big whiff and try not to gag. You'll smell a weird combination of plastic and BO. Unfotunately, they make the dry goods (uncooked oatmeal, dried fruits, nuts, etc) I store in them smell and taste like a weird combination of platic and BO. Yes... I washed them before I used them. Yes... I even put them in the dishwasher, but a month later, they still stink. Now, I use them for stuff like crayons and cake decorating tips and other stuff I'm not going to eat. Also, I have a bunch of the older containers, I think they were called Take Alongs, that were more opaque with a lid that was really flexible and they did not smell this bad. Save your money and buy the good, expensive, sturdy Rubbermaid containers becuase these are just not worth it.
Customer Review: containers that contain themselves and the mess Summary: 4 Stars
I was so fed up with the mess in my container drawer that I decided to get rid of all those nasty locking mechanism container that gather mold and take forever to assemble after washing them (I take them apart when I wash them because otherwise they will gather mold...nasty. you can store them in a corner of the drawer with the cover, they all fit inside each other and many use the same size cover. So far no stains too, but I havent put tomato sauce yet.so that would be the real test. they are aLSO BPA Free which is what you need when storing food.I wish they include a bigger size container which is sold separately. I was kind of mad from amazon because the price dropped almost 40% after I purchased them... they should have a price adjustment policy for purchases within 10 days or 30 days period..come on Amazon!
Customer Review: No more hunting for lids in the cabinet Summary: 4 Stars
If you grew up in a house where your parents had an unorganized pile of mismatched colors, sizes, and shapes of Tupperware in one of those lower corner cabinets then you will definitely appreciate this set. The containers are designed to be deep rather than wide and thus the same lid will fit on multiple different sized containers. This eliminates the need to dig through piles of Tupperware to find that one specific lid that matches the container you found. The containers themselves are also stackable. What we found best was to arrange the containers on a lazy Susan and then stack the lids off to the side in the cupboard. I've never spent more than 3 seconds in that cabinet and I'd like to keep it that way. Oh and the quality is great with the lids making a nice strong seal every time.
